why create a website?

i've always wanted to create my own website! i enjoy having the ability to customize freely in a way that social media apps won't let me! having a website allows me to have a much more personal outlet. it also helps me create smaller digital circles. if you are reading this, that includes you! thank you!

why choose a website over social media?

in my youth, social media was best enjoyed when everyone had fun exploring posts. you were able to connect through shared interests, share tips and hacks without it being a competition, and posting for just the heck of it. in this day and age, social media seems to feed us the same algorithims, with many following these same trends to stay relevant. with social media being at its peak, it has become mainstream. it can be overwhelming, hollow and even toxic. these days it feels less magical.

side note: i am not against social media ! i think it's great we can search up anything at anytime ! however i miss the days when it was slower , and there was small digital spaces !
